Mr Ballance intends next session to introduce a Bill appropriating 2000 acres m various parts of the Island for landless Maoris. Government are thinking of introducing jbamois into the colony. Dr Von Haast will make enquiries when at Home as to the cost md feasibility, and the neighboring colonies mye been communicated with and raised no )bjection.
