THE ANGLICAN SYNOD.
[By Telegraph.] Auckland, Feb. 8. In the Synod the Primate, replying to a question by tho Dean of Christchurch, Baid the Archbishop of Canterbury stated there was no vestige of truth m the rumor that he refuses to receive colonially-ordained clergy ; that m fact the number of such clergy had largely increased of late. Of 62 applications since July last, 60 had been granted. The Soleet Committee on the Dunedin procathoral, reported m favor of the scheme, subject to tho approval of the Diocesan Synod. The whole question was referred to the Trustees Committee. A proposal to reduce deacons m some cases was adjourned until to-morrow. •. Business may close this week.
