The statement that Her Majesty the Queen had summoned Earl Granville to Osborne haa not been confirmed, and ia believed to be inaccurate. Mr Chamberlain has declined the portfolio of First Lord of the Admiralty. It is currently reported that E'jrl Northbrook will be appointed Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland, but tho rumor lacks official confirmation.
