[Dv Telegraph.] AcikijAND, Jan. 30. At the Anglican General Synod, Bishop Hadfield moved—" That m clause 9 of the Constitution, the words ' being communicants ' must bo understood to me.in members of tho church of tho province of New Zealand, who have communicated at least once nilhin the year, prior to their nomination for election." Dean Jacobs moved as an amendment — '•That ull tho words utter tho words 'New Zealand ' bo omitted, and that the following be substituted—' who shall declare m writing when called upon to do so, that they are communicants.' " After an animated discussion, ultimately both the motion and the amendment wero negatived.
