SUPREME COURT.
1 (By Telegraph.) ' Blenheim, Oct. 24. 1 Mr Justice Bichmond opened tbe sittings of. the Supreme Court to-day with only one criminal case, a simple charge of larceny. In charging the Grand Jury the Judge said that the weight and magnitude of tho Apparatus of the Supreme Court was disproportionate I to the offence to be tried. It was like an elephant picking up a pin, or a Masmyth thirty-ton hammer driving a tenpenny nail. He congratulated tho Grand Jury on tho lightness of their work. October 25. The Jury yesterday, after five hours' rel tirement acquitted James Trischler on a charge of larceny of clothing and other articles. ; Judge Richmond leaves for Nelson tomorrow night, and takes the civil business on his return a week hence.
