The second day's racing of the A.J.C. meeting took place to-day. Tho weather during the forenoon was overcast and threatening, but cleared up splendidly before the afternoon. The attendance was larger than last year, and it ia estimated that there were fully fifteen thousand persons on the course, the number of visitors from the neighboring colonies being larger than usual. The following are tho results: — The Siiobts. Handicap of 100 soys. For three year olds and upwards. Three3uarter» of a mile. a 1 Fair Allen 2 Morceau 3 The Spbiso Maidsk Stakes. A sweepstakes of 6 «ov* each, 1 ft., with 150 soys added. For maiden horns on the day of general entry. Weight*—Three years, 7st 91b j four year», Bst 7lb; five, six years, and aged, Bst 91b. Second horse 20 sots from the prize. One mile and a half. WoTdenfeldt 1 Magnifier 2 Bon Accord 3 Hordenfeldt led all the way from tho start. Time—2min. 471 »cc. Thj Gbbat Mztbopdlitan Stakes, a handicap sweepstakes of 20 sots each, fa. ft., or 6 soys if declared on Monday, Augunt 24th, with 500 soys added. The start was delayed for a timo owing to ■ Kathleen bo.ting, and she went n couple of ' miles before her jockey could pull her up. Eventually a capital atart was effected, Prince Imperial, Happy Thought, Despot and Rod Wing forming the first division, Lord of the Lake being lust. Passing the Grand vStand for the first time Prince Imperial led the field at a merry pace, Recruit lying second, then came Happy Thought, Silver King, Copra and As'raea m tha order named. The pace continued a clinker, and at the back of the I course Iloncydcw joiued Prince Imperial, tho others m a cluster. Coming to the bend Acolyte and Despot joined the loaders. Honeydew was tho lirst into the straight, closely attended by Acolyte, Despot and Prince Imperial. i Hern Di-spot fell and threw his jockey, who, however, was not seriously hurt. At the distance post Lord Exetor camo with a rush, and a splendid struggle ensued to the post, Acolyte gaining the Judge's decision by half a length. Brown aud Roso was a good third. Honeydew, Prince Imperial, Tom Brown, Wingi and Moonshf c finished m V: c order named. Time — 3min 3] isec.
