(By Telegraph.) Auckland, Sept. 22. At an inquest on the body of W. F. Flood, Secretary of the Auckland Club, the jury,' after a consultation of an hour and a half, returned a verdict of " accidental death." A consignment of apples by the Zealandia was discovered to have the codlin moth, and this being noticed by the Customs officers the moth was found to have travelled to other goods -which are being delivered as they cannot be detained under the provisions of the Act. The officials, however, have requested consignees to examine their goods and destroy the moth. Hbw Plyjmtoth, Sept. 22. The wife of an engineer (Mr Wray) m the ■waterworks, m dipping a bucket into the reservoir at noon to-day, slipped m and was drowned. HokitlKA, Sept. 22. The Bank of New Zealand •hipped to-day 3213 ounces of gold, valued at £12,852, being their month's purchases m the district. DtTXEBiN, Bept. 22. A caVe, weighing 700 ounces, has been sent down from the Phteoix mine.
