(By Telegraph.) j Wellington, Sept. 21. j LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. I Tho Legislative Council met nfc 2.30 p.m. LAND DILL. The report o( the Free Couference on the Loud Bill was agreed to. THE CUSTOMS UCTIE3 INTERPRETATION HILL Tliis Bill was read a first and second time, committed and passed. VANOANUI IIARBOK BILL. The Wangnnui Harbor Board Bill was committed. Dr Grace moved that the Chairman leave the chair, and this was carried by 18 to 15. . MINES DILIi. On tho motion of Dr Menzies another Conference was appointed oa tho Mines Bill, and the Council adjourned at 3.30 p.m. till 7.30 p.m. Tho Council resumed at 7.30 p.m. BErOBT. Tho report of the Free Conference ou tho Mines Bill was agreed to. MES3AGE3. A message was received from the House of Representatives announcing they had resolved that the insertion of clau-o' 26 m the District Railways Purchasing Bill infringed tho privilege 3of thut House. Tho Hon. the Colonial Secretary moved that the Council should not insist on its amendment , but insists that it was within its rights to make the said amendment. Mr Holmes moved that tho message be taken into consideration m three months. After a short discussion the Colonial Secretary's motion was carried by 17 to 15. NEW BILL. The Hon. the Colonial Secretary moved for leave to introduce the Railway Limitation Bill. Mr G. R. Johnston moved tho previous question, and this was carried by 20 to 12. The Immigration and Public Works Appropriation Bill was passed through all its stages. The Appropriation Bill was also passed through its stages, and tho Council adjourned at 11.20 p.m.
