THE WELLINGTON HOSPITAL.

KEPOHT OF IHE COMMISSION. (By Telegraph.) Wellington, Sept. 18. Tim following is the report of tlio Wellington Jlospitnl Commission : — 1 ho Commissioners consider that the evidence proves that Mausieo Alfred Chillon wna unfit properly to perform the duties of his oflice, owing to his haying contracted intemperate habits. They thinfc, therefore, his dismissal fully justified. The. Commissioners consider the dismissal of the nurses justified by tho insubordinuto tono of the letter addressed by them to the Chairman of tho Hospital Committee. The Commissioners think that, however, owing to the lateness of the hour at which the order for dismissal wus sent to tho Hospital, the actual dismissal might have been postponed until the following morning. They also consider t!:at the notice of dismissal givon to certain officers and male sorrants of the Hospital was necessary for desciplino and good management. Tho Commissioners consider that the evidenco as to tho general management of the Hospital sinco the appointment of Maurice A. Chilton shows that great extravagance prevailed m tho use of medical comforts and food, and that owing to the want of proper discipline grave irregularities have been permitted and encouraged. The Commissioners attach no serious importance to the complaints by patients against the medical oflicers, and are glad to notice that m spite of the great difficulties arising from the circumstances alluded to, the nursing department has been efficiently conducted.
