Sir Michael Hicks Beach, Chancellor of the Exchequer, addressed a public meeting of the electors of East Gloucestershire last nisjht at Cirencister. In the coarse of his speech he denied the existence of a compact between the Parnellite and the Conservative parties regarding the Home Rule question.
