(By Telegraph.) Auckland, August 4. The Federated Seamen's Union demands £10 per month for firemen m the employ of Iho Northern Shipping Company. Dnring the previous strike tho firemen voluntarily surrendered £1 per month. They now demand the former rate of pay. The Auckland Timber Company have declared a dividend of 10 per cent, and carried forward £24,701. The annual report of the Eacing Clnb ■howed that £1600 of the debit balance hao been wiped off during the year, and there was now £400 to the good. The capital account ■howed a balance of £14,959. Another wrestling match has been arranged between Reaney, of Dunedin, and Fagan, of Auckland, for £60 aside. At a public meeting under the auspices of the Auckland Liberal Association, to consider the question of the unemployed, about 100 persons were present, not a dozen of whom were anemployed. Mr H. W.
