Timaru Herald Oflßce, Friday Evening. Deliveries of grain into town by rail and road are still very numerous. Nearly alltho grain coming in, however, is going into granaries for storage on growers' account, consequently there arc very few transactions of any note to report. What few there are are at the followiug quotations : — Milling wheat, velvet and Tuscan, 2a 8d ; red ohaff,2s Cd ; bright Bhort oats, from Is od to Is 6d ; bright long, Is 2d : discolored oats are unsaleable ; baTley nominal. Mr "W. Evans reports a fair amount of business having been done with farmers during the past week at about the following quotations : — Delivered by dray and truck to stores, viz., milling wheat, 2s Gd to 2s 3d ; fowl do, Is 6d to 2s ; short oats, Is Gd to la 7d ; Danish and Tartarian feed, 13 2d to Is -Id ; malting barley, 2s Gd to 3s ; feed do, Is Cd to 2s ; bags on all grain Cd each ; Derwent potatoes, 455 ; bran, 70s per ton, bags in, f.o.b. Farmers are now selling more freely at quotations, and large linos are being taken up for shipment to Australia. The Canterbury Farmers' Co-operative Association, Limited, report for the week ended 29th May, as follows :— Wheat — The market still remains in & very unsatisfactory state, buyers continuing to hold off. Large quantities are daily coming to hand, and the stores are rapidly filling up. Prices shew a slight decline on last week, present values being, for prime milling red chaff 2s Gd to 2s 7d, Tuscan 2s 7d to 2s 9d, and Velvet 2s 8d to 2s lOd. Inferior qualities move off for fowl feed at Is 9d to 2s. Oats— Havo sold freely during the week, without, however, any improvement in prices, tho supplies being fully equal to the demand. They quote Is 3d to Is Id for long feed, Is Gd to Is 7d for short feed, and Is 8d to Is 9d for good milling. Barley— l3 dull of sale at 2s Gd to 2s 9d for primo malting. Inferior grades are meeting with no demand. Beans— 2s 3d, f.o.b.
