WATER SUPPLY FOR THE LEVELS PLAINS.
TO THE EDITOR OP THE TIMARU HERAID. Sib, — Recently I noticed m tho Geraldine County Council, Mr Moody asked a question relative to irrigation, and then the mattei dropped. Sir, you would confer a great boon on the residents of the Levels Plains if you would take the mattei up and advocate it through youi columns. There is no part of the country where water is more needed, and no part where it can b'e^stf'toaoijj'^iiwiv,,,^ „,} „* ,, 0 little cost. Unless I am mistaken Mr Meason, C.E., some time since mado a survey for irrigation pxu-poses, but nothing more was done. The effect of having water races running through the light plains land would be to increase the . oarrying capacity and value at least 25 per cent. I am, &c, K.
