This annual race meeting took place on Monday on a very, suitable course near the township. The attendance, owing to the Ber view and other attractions was not large, but the meeting was a moat enjoyable. one, the day being beautifully fine. The officers of the club performed the duties allotted to them most faithfully and with the greatest courtesy. With respect to the racing, it was, on the whole, good. A totalisator on the ground was tolerably well patronised, and not a few sweeps were got up on each eventl Bacing commenced at 1.15 p.m. with the Handicap Hubdles ; 1J miles ; over six flights of hurdles ; open to all horses in the district that had never won public money of more than £15 'in a hurdle race. Seftdn, who was a favorite, was left at the post, but when fairly started he gained rapidly on the leaders. At the Stand he again stuck up, and was out of it. Hunnington was scratched. Vinco won by a length from Black Prince. This was an excellent race between the first two horses. After passing the Judge's stand at the finish, Black Prince collided against another horse, and threw his rider, Bradbury, heavily. Dividend — £1 7s. Tbial Stakes, of 6 sovs ; 1 mile ; weight for age. For all horsos that had never won public money. Winners of any race at this meeting not allowed to run. Presto, Bst Blb (Hoaro) 1 Te Kooti, 9st 31b (Johns) 2 Flirtaway, 7stllb (Fox) 3 Sefton and David also ran. Presto won easily by about three lengths from To Kooti. Little Doll ••• 1 Sefton 2 Sefton looked a winner in the first round, but refused to go further than the judge's stand, and Little Doll won as she liked. This raco concluded a good day's sport.
