Chbistchuboh, April 6. The Autumn meeting of the C. J.O. opened under most favorable auspices to-day. The weather was grand, and being a holiday the attendance was large. Sir Julius Yogel arrived on the course shortly before the first race, and was received by the Stewards and conducted to the Grand Stand, the band playing " See the Conquering Hero Comes." After a short delay the flag was lowered to a good start, of which Administrator, Captain Webster and Sou-wester had the best. On settling down Administrator was leading Captain Webster by a length, Nelson and Sou-wester close behind, Rubina bringing up the rear. At Cutts' Captain Webster was a length behind Administrator, Nelson being third, with Lady Emma at his girths, but at the mile post Captain Webster collared Administrator, and shortly after took command, Nelson still third, with Lady Emma close up fourth. At the six furlongs post Administrator fell back, and Nelson went into second place, and on rounding the bend waa a length and a half behind the leader, Rubina still m the rear. At the turn into the straight Captain Webster, Nelson, and Lady Emma were together, with Wapiti fourth. Captain Webster led into the straight with Nelson half a length away. When fairly m the straight Rubina and Sou'wester came through, and at the distance Derritt collared Captain Webster and a desperate race then ensued between the pair, resulting m a victory for the daughter of Kingsboro, Captain Webster being second, and Sou'rwester two lengths away third.
