Distance 1 mile. No weight under Bst ; post entry, 10s. The winner to be sold by auction ; any surplus over 20 soys to go to the race fund. 4.30 p.m. — Flying Handicap of 40 soys. SECOND DAY. 1.0 p.m. — Timauu Steeplechase, a handicap of 100 soys, with Sweepstake of 3 soys for acceptors ; amount accruing from sweep to go to the second hoi'3C. Acceptances for Welter Handicap, Timaru Cup, Timaru Steeplechase, Handicap Hurdles, District Plate, Flying Handicap. THURSDAY, APRIL 16th— Evening of first day's racing. Weights for S.C.J.C. Handicap and Winter Oats, at 9 p.m. ; Acceptances by 10 p.m. RULES AND REGULATIONS. No entry will bo received for anj r of the races except upon this condition — That all disputes, claims, and objections, arising out of the racing shall bo decided by a majority of the Stewards, or those whom they may appoint ; their decision on all pointß connected with the carrying out of this Programme to be final. All Entries and Acceptances must be m sealed covers addressed to the Secretary, Timaru, and contain entrance money, sweepstakes, description, age, and name of Horse, and colors to be worn by the Jockey, and must be m the hands of the Secretary by 9 p.m. on above dates. No late letters or telegrams received after that hour. South Canterbury Jockey Club Rules will be strictly adhered to. Hack races to be ridden m proper Jockey costume. In the event of a person entering a protest, the sum of £2 2s must be lodged with tho Secretary before such protest is considered, this sum to be forfeited to the funds should the Stewards consider the protest frivolous or vexatious. Five per cent will be deducted from the gross of all moneys paid m accordance with the programme, for expenses, and when not otherwise specified, all entries and acceptances to go to the funds. F. W.
