THE SOUDAN CAMPAIGN.

The latest intelligence from, the front states that Colonel Brackeiibury, in command of the late General Earle's column, crossed the Nile on Saturday feat at a point about forty miles from Abu Hammed, to the north of Berber. The movement was effected without opposition from the enemy. | Received 10 p.m. Feb. 27th. 1 Sydney, Feb. 27. Several further donations amounting to £1001) have been made to the Patriotic Fund. Arrangements for the despatch to the Soudan of the contingent are progressing favorably. (By Telegraph.) Auckland, Feb. 27. Up to the present 630 names of persons desirous of proceeding to the Soudan have been sent to Lieutenant A. D. Bonnet. These include 67 from the Thames, and 70 from the Xaipara districts.
