AUCTIONEERS' REPORT.

Hossrs Eobt. Wilkin and Co. roport fo the week onded Friday, 12th October, 1883 as follows : — Horses — The demand has improved, an< prices aro a littlo better than they have bcei f«r tho last few weeks. There are enquiries for good draughts and useful hacks for loca requirements. Tlioy quote first-class draughts from L3O up to L4O ; medinm, L2O to L2B hacks, from Ll2 up to L2O; light and weedy L 5 to LlO. Cattle — Prime beef may bo quoted at 253 medinm 22s Gil per lOOlbs. The local domanc for prime quality is fairly good. At Washdyke yards on Monday last only a smal number came forward. They sold prime bullocks from L 7 10s to L 8 ss. In stores they yarded -10 bead of various descriptions, and sold the following lot : — 16 two-year-olds, at 12 14* ; steor3, at L 3 13s fid ; mixed lots, from LI 17s, L 2 10s to L 3 per head ; milch cows, IA, 1.1 10s to L 5. Tho demand for this class of stock is improving, and m the course of another month, whoa the pastures are good, they expect a fair amount of business will be done m this class of stock. Sheep, fat— The market is only fairly well supplied, and no improvement on last week's price?, viz., 3d per lb can be quoted. At Washdyke yards on Monday tho entry was comprised entirely of merinos. They sold 200 nice quality mutton at 13s per hoad. In stores they have no transactions of any note to report. Thero are enquiries for crossbred wethers and hoggets, of which they have several linos under notice. We believe that if everyono would uso Hop Bitters freely there would bo much less tiickD 033 and misery m tho world, and people aro fast finding thia out, whole families keeping well at a trifling coat by its nee.
