Other suitable appliances have now been telegraphed for to Wellington, and will be m time for use during tho spring tides, which will he of very little practical uso until tha end of the week, consequently nothing can now bo done until then. Fifty tons of cargo Btill remain aboard, 40 tons having been thrown over the sido, including thoGreymouth atnff, and the balance has been landed and stored. The Greymouth portion of the latter will ba forwarded per Manawatu on her retnrn from Wellington, for which port she will leave thiß afternoon. The jettisoned cargo, consisting of flour, bran, &c, was collected by residents on tha beach as it came ashore, and taken possession of by them, but the agents of tho ship now advertise that the goods must be accounted for and sahrage claimed. Tho steamer is leaking slightly, and the machinery is out-of order and two faU3 of tho propeller are broken. There ia at present a proposed xrrangoment that the Manawatu shall bring launching appliances from Wellington, go to Greymouth with cargo, then return here, and accompany the Grafton to Wellington when Bho floats.
