Sir Henry Parkeß, who is now in London, is making arrangements with the Orient Company for the despatch of cargo and a number of immigranta to this colony by the Orient liners. \ H.M.S. Nelson has arrived here from the New Hebrides Islands. Melbourne, Aug. 4. 1 The captain of the steamer Pathan in- , terviewed Mr Service to-day, and pro- • tested strongly against the action of the t Government in preventing the landing ■ of the Irish informers who are passengers i by the Pathan. Hia efforts were, how- ' ever, without avail, and he has since re- * fused to supply food or water to the police b who are stationed on board the vessel. 3 The Government will come to a final de--6 cision in the matter on Monday, and 3 meanwhile the Invincibles will be compelled to remain under police supervision on board the steamer.
