Several of the leaders of the Legitimist party »ro concerned in the plot which was discovered by the police, and aro compromised by the papers seized relating to the designs of the conspirators. Capetown, Aug. 4. O'Donnoll, who shot James Carey at Port Elisabeth, has been brought up at the Police Court and committed for trial at the next Eoyal Assizes on a charge of murder. Naples, Aug 4. Another severe shock of earthquake occurred at Ischia. The effects of the shock ■were most severe at Forio, a seaport on the West coast of the island, where several houses were destroyed. Vienna, Aug. 4. A serious anti-Jewish agitation occurred at Preaburg in consequence of the release of the Jews who were charged with the murder of a Christian girl, in order to use her blood in their Passover ceremonies. A large mob collected and commenced to pillage tho Jewish quarter of the town, and the authorities were compelled to call out the military to disperse the rioters.
