The Nativo Affairs Commttco has reportod on tbe potitioo of Wabanui, Tam.ira, and Bewi Maniopoto, and others complaining of the tactics of "land sharks" and "jand swallowers," as they cxpross it. Tbe (Joinmittee find the complaints and fears of Uhe petitioners only too well grounded, and t\at the apparent deßires of the petitioners are reasonable, and recommend tbo petition to tho favorable consideration of the House, when tho Native Committeoa Bill and tho Native Land Sales Bill ore before it. Thero was great excitement m tho House to-night on the motion for a Seleot Committeo to enquire into tbe charges made by Mr Dargaville against llio Premier and Treasurer. Mr Dargaville sticks to and defends the languago used by him under the cloak of his " nationality."
