[Br Tkleoeaph.] "Wanganui, Jan. 6. The Arthur Wakefield, which left Nelson for this port on Saturday at 1 p.m., with a cargo of sugar, ran ashore on the North Beach shortly after six o'clock last evening. She arrived off the bar during the afternoon, and by direction of the pilot attempted to oross about six o'olock, when without any apparent cause she began to drift to leeward, and in a very short time was end on to the beach, where at low water she will probably be high and dry. The schooner is owned by Mr James Cross, of Nelson, and is insured. C. S. Oross remained beside her all night to watch on behalf of his brother. [By Telegraph.]
