The brigantine Flirt which arrived on Sunday from Newcastle, brought a cargo of coal for Mr W. Evans. She has made a trip to Noumea, New Caledonia, since her last visit to this colony. She will load here for Auckland. The Union Company's s.s. Maori, Captain Bernech, arrived from Dunrdin yesterday morning with a large general cargo. She returned South in the evening, taking a quantity of produce. The barque Elizabeth is rapidly getting her cargo out, and is expected to sail in ballast for Newcastle about Friday. The barquentine Annie Bow is taking in ballast, and will probably leave for Newcastle to-morrow. The fine barque Anazi, Captain James Hill, having completed taking in her Timaru cargo of wheat for London, soiled for Port Chalmers yesterday afternoon, where she will fill up with wool. The Union Company's Beautiful Star, Captain Jones, from Port Chalmers, arrived early yesterday morning. She will return to the same port to-day. The schooner Saucy Kate arrived at Auckland from this port on the 29th ult. The ketch Glimpse which sailed on Saturday evening, arrived at Port Chalmers after a smart passage of 24- hours. The schooner Zior is now on the berth for Wellington, and is open for freight. Mr T. T. Brownell ib her agent. The brigantine Ethel, from Timaru, arrived at Auckland on the 24th December. She experienced head winds all the way up. The brig Moa reached tho same port on the previous day. With reference to the Hyderabad the Manawatu Si raid supplies the following information: — A large amount of cargo has been taken out of the ship. We understand fully £15,000 worth. It was intended to have attempted to get her out into deep water during the spring tides this week, but. it is probable the effort will be postponed until another heavv anchor is laid down. It is at present hanging over the sides, and directly the westerly weather moderates, the Forest Queen will drop alongside, and take it out 100 fathoms, and lay it. This will enable a greater | strain to be brought to bear. The appearance on board is just the same as any large English ship lying at the wharf, the men and \ officers all living on board. She is perfectly sound, and not a rivet has started. Captain Gibbon informs us the ship is making less than a quarter of an inch of water per day. If she is not got off during the coming springs she is almost certain to get into deep water during the next, as another 200 tons of cargo will Lave been taken out in the meantime.
