THE WAI-ITI SCHOOL.

TO THB BDITOB OF THE TIJfARU HERALD. Sib,—l am sorry to have to trouble you again, but teeing I am accused of so many mis-statements, I cannot allow them to go unnoticed. As to tha truth, I have always kept to it, and will still endeavor to do so. I should think " Echo" can know but very little of the district, if he \b under the impression that Mr Gosling's ia more than five miles from the Bridge, when it is not mote than two miles and a half, and only two miles from Mr Graham's site. Again, he repeats his former asßeriion regarding the two families who live near to the Bridge. We do not Bay anything about those who live near to the Bridge oa the other side, and I therefore think " Echo" should leave out all on our side of it. Tour correspondent takes Mr Graham for an example to make his facts clear. If ho would give himself the trouble of asking Mr Graham about the child over five yeara old, he would give him all the information he requires. "Echo" leaves out Mr Graham's nearest neighbor, Mrlvey, with a family. By having the school on the Wai-iti Road, a narrow space would be left out between that and the Pareora, so that a few would not have any chance of a school ; but if a school were built on Mr Graham's site, it would take in all between the Pareora. Again, he talks about the children going to the Claremont school, whereas there are but seven there from Mr Green's and Mr Lack's and they have a very long distance to go. They would not go there at all if a scbool were to be built on the Wai-iti Road. Allow me to tell "Echo" tb.it there are fourteen families within two miles of the Bridge. It is a good thing the Board of Education do not take "Echo" to measure the distance. I do not think the Board can afford to build schools so very close together, and I think they will have a school built where it would best suit the district. Apologising for taking up so much of your valuuble space, I am, &c, RICHABD KbLLAND.
