Canterbury lost the toss, and East Melbourne went to the wicket*. i*l zander played m fine form. The bowling of Lee and W. Frith W3s very good. Canterbury's fie'ding was indifferent. Canterbury, first innings— OUivier, b Kendall, 7; Wat sod, not out, 24; Hartland, not out, 4 ; extras, 5 ; total 40.
