London, Augvist 22. The produce market is languid. Wool steadily advanced, towards the close of the sale, which closed at an advance on the opening rates of 2d and 3d per lb. Since the sale the market has been firm, and prices well maintained with a fair enquiry. The New Zealand flax sales are flat, and the bulk was bought m. 700 bales were sold at a decline of 20s to 25s per ton. Middling, £32 103 ; good, £36 Is ; fine, £39. Tallow sold freely, but at the close the market was less active. Casks of sheep's fetched £42 3s to £42 93 ; beef, £22 to £41 3s. Hides were m good demand at Is 8d advance, 31)7 Hew Zealand, sold at 6^d ; leather is m active demand at 13s 4d advance. Sales of best have been made at 13s to los ; seconds and stained at 123 to 14s. - .

Butter is m fair demand at 50s. j Beeswax, 8s to 5s ; dark, 7s to 10s. New Yohk, September 2. Tho rate of freight is advanced for vessels to Dunedin, 17h cents per foot ; to Wellington, 50 cents. Wool has undergone no change, nor lias the tone of the market. There is little disposition to take large parcels. Sales include 2GI bales Australian at 57 cents to 58 cents. Flax is very quiet, and prices m sympathy with the rates ruling for hemp. No sales are reported ; prices are nominally 9 cents., and 10 cents, for good. At auction 185 bales of damaged New Zealand sold at live and three-fifth cents, to eight and one-eighth cents, for cash. Tow, 3| cents. Kerosene is inactive, although prices have advanced with a still upward tendency. The markets closed firm, Devue's32 cents. Oysters and lobsters are scarce and firm. Dried apples ai'e linn. Boston. Wool market. — Wool is m fair demand, sales of Now Zealand have been made at 55cents. to 59cents. Wheat, at New York, Idol. 20cents. San Fraxcisco, Sept. 11. The Olympia, with the Nebraska's passengers has not arrived. The Idaho is is engaged by the agents of the line to make up the lost time. In breadstuiis heavy transactions have been jnarle. Wheat is 1 dol GO cents ; flour, 5 dols 50 cents. The Liverpool quotation for wheat, on September 9, was 12s lOd per cental. Wool m San Francisco is dull at 16 cents to 18 cents. Freight is scarce and high at New York.
