WAIMATE PLOUGHING MATCH.
The ploughing, jiiatch ■■-. took place on the first, of Septeml^er, on a piece of land near the racecourse. Lots J| for choice of statioiis, were drawn at 8.30 a,m., and a start was hiade. at 9 aJra., finisliiiig at 3.30 p.m., at which time the Judges, Messrs James Anderson, George Manchester, and George Brown, • entered upon; theii* duties. Tha day being fine, thei*e vyas a good attendance of spectators ;, over two-hundred being present. The. ploughing was generally good, and competition close, both men and horaes being thoroughly up to their'woi-k.
