(BY TELEORAm—OTOCORKESrOXDENT) Auckland, December 21. : Last- night a detao.limont consisting of Sergeants lianiblojMcMahon,Black, Lyons, and Kelly, Ghief-Detectivo Grace, Acting Detectives Bailey, Quirk, and Cullraane, and fifteen constables made a raid on a Chinese gambling house in Wakefield Street and arrested the. occupier (Chee Fong) and 25 other Chinamen. Tho accused, who were brought up at the Police Court to-day and remanded, on being searched last night had in all about 410 . on them. Latkk, Chcc Fong and twenty.five other Chinamen were charged at the Polico Court today with using a house in Wakefield street as a common gaming, house, and were remanded till the 6th January.
