(Pku Pkijss Association.) Wellington*, February '27. The Wakatipu, which arrived from Sydney this afternoon brought sfi passengers for all parts. The balance-sliest of the Palmerston North Gas Company shows a net profit : of £415. The directors recommend a dividend at the rata of live per cent, per annum, and to carry forward £391. A circular lias been issued by Ministres to heads of Departments stating that for the future temporary clerks of twelve months' stauding in the civil service am to receive sick pay and to be paid for holidays in the same way as those on the permanent list. In the case of temporary clerks of less than twelve months' service being placed on the sick list, each case will be judged on its merits.
