Auckland, February '27.
Two German mining experts have
arrived at Wellington—Mr Sinitliers, geologist to the German Government, who has received twelve months leave of absence for the purpose of inspecting the New Zealand mines, and Mr C. Wiehinann, who is said to represent
a million pounds of German capital, I He also is visiting this colony for the purpose of reporting on the Held ollercd fur mining ina'stnients. These gentlemen come on to Auckland by the first stealer. Mr Stnithers lias already examined the auriferous regions on the West Coast. lie intends to thoroughly examine the Auckland goldfields, and if his report be favourable, there is little doubt'it will lead to the invest-
went of ci large amount of German capital, The South African gold fields have been largely stimulated by foreign investors, and now that attention is directed to the New Zealand fields there is little doubt that a portion of the stream will be directed here with great advantage to our industry.
