THE Chames Advertiser. Favour to none; fear of none; justice to all. FRIDAY, AUGUST 9, 1895.

A meeting of the Executive and Committee of the newly-formed Poultry Association will be held in the Horough Conncil Chambers on Saturday next at 7.30 p.ni, Mr Dufaur, who appeared at tho Warden's Court yesterday in cases in which the Kauri Timber Company were interested, called attention to the inconvenience suffered by the mining public from the delay in connection with the return of plans from the Survey Office in Auckland. It is only a question of employing a few more hamis and wo feel sure the Government will remedy this defect as soon as their attention is called to Mr Dufaur's reasonable complaint. A well-known Auckland legal manager got a deserved rap on the knuckles from the Warden yesterday for his want of courtesy in not putting in an appearance at the Court on two occasions for which he had been subptenaed and in the latter case not even making any excuse for his non-appear-ance. The case which was one in which Mr O'Keefe is applying for the Disowned Licensed Holding was [adjourned to August 15th, on which day Mr Miller felt sure the offending Aueklander would be present. Mr j Cleiulon appeared for the applicant. The schooner Gisborne has just Charged a cargo of produce from Tinmru for Messrs M. Browne and Co. The cargo comprises 300 sacks and ;l(i(J bags of Hour, 100 sacks pollard, 1W sacks bran, and lot) sacks oats. In spite of the boisterous weather of late, which Captain l'ankow says is the worst he lias known for over '20 years, the cargo was discharged in splendid condition, only one df two sacks being damaged. Captain l'ankow tells us that the storm was so violent at its height that hundreds of tons of shingle were deposited on the wharf at Titiiaru inside the breakwater. This came in very handy for one large vessel which was enabled to take in ballast from the wharf without the cost of carting. At the Warden's Court yesterday Mr Charles Manuel conducted his own ease in, a plaint of forfeiture against tlio City of Dunedin G.M. Co. The complainant in opening Iris case said that he Imd brought an action for forfeiture four weeks ago and on that occasion he I bought the plaint was laid so as to allow him to proceed for nil broaches of the Act, but he found on coining to Court that lie was confined to the labour clauses, hence the present wise. Mr Manuel argued his case with considerable ingenuity, showing an intimate acquaintance with all the jus and outs of mining law, but fates were against him, ami he had to submit to a defeat, as the Warden gave a verdict for the defendant company. WOLFFS SCIINAPPH. It is necessary that all who desire a pure genuine article, especially ladies when nursing, should be careful to buy bottle intact.
