Mr Pitcher gave notice to introduce a Bill to amend the Constitution of the Council.;-'Mr Want stated that while any bill to reform the Council would have to be introduced in that Chamber, the Govern- > ment would n-«t allow the matter to be taken out of their hands or introduced by a private member. .. Later. The Electoral Bill has passed through the Committee in the Legialativo Assembly. The Premier presided at a meeting vof the freetrade party to prepare for •' ihe election campaign. He stated he would go to the country upon the Laud, Income Tax, and Tariff Bills just as they stood. A Bill to reform the Council was being prepared.- . In the Assembly the Electoral Bill passed the third reading. Two Public AVorks Bills had passed through committee and a. Loan Bill was now being.debated. The Council has passed supplies, .
