THE HEAT EXPORT TRADE.
CHILLED BEEF V.LIVE STOCK. (Per Press Association.) Adelaide, June 27. ' The Register, commenting on the shipment of live stock by the steamer Euchuca, says if it is successful and proves that we can export at a profit as alleged of from £3 to £5 per head it will lead to the occupation of much, of the colonies' undeveloped territory. In dealing' with chilled meat the paper, while admitting the great success of the Gothic's cargo, doubts the statement that the new process will kill the export of live cattle as fresh killed meat will always be preferred. It says that thermostats of 1 one sort or another have been usedfor many years, butnot one has been found advantageous in the employ of tho large AmeriGau chilled meat trade. Shield's process has yet to stand the test of the Red Sea voyage, and just 1 as the live meat trade has held its own against chilled in America so will the two exist side by side, in disposing of the produce from Australia.
