LORD KOSEBERY AT BRADFORD,
IMPRESSIVE SCENES OF'EX-
OITEMENT.
[By Cal/h:—Press Association.]
London September 29. Lord Roserery, speaking at Bradford, dwelt on the immensity of the (task in dealing with the House of Lords, Ho said that he was not inclined to mow in the matter at present, as the majority of the Government in this Parliament was too small, and the Government would, to enter fully into the question, require a special mandate of the country, lucked up by an overwhelming majority at the polls. The campaign 1 would, lie said, require wariness in carrying it out, and the patience; asked would not be an alfair of rose i water. Ho warned bJS Carers uDt" to look for immediate results, as it j would he a hopeless task to attempt to carry the House of Lords by storm J or by a rash act. Ho concluded his speech during impressive scenes of excitement with the remark, "We fling down the gauntlet, you must hack us." | Later. PKESS OPINIONS. AN ELECTIONEERING SPEECH. The Liberal newspapers are jubil? ant at Lord Rosebery's defiant challenge. Tlio " Times" considors that the Premier is dragged at the wheels of a fanatical folly, which ho scarcely pretends to regard as national. The "Standard" follows in a similar strain, and declares that tho speech is an oloctioneormg one.
