The first meotiug in Auckland ot the Board of.Land Purchase Commission appointed undor clause 3of tho Land for Settlement Act, 1892, held a meeting yesterday, and considered three applications with regard to laud offered for sale to the Government. These were in respeot to a block of 4000 acres at Hikutaia, Upper Thames, offered by Henry Alley; a block of 4000 acres in the Waikato offered by Bucklandand Shopherd; and an area of land near Kamo, Wangaroi County, in the vicinity of the coal mines, offered for sale by tho Bank of New South Wales. The Commissioners proceeded to Wangaroi last evening for tho purpose of inspecting the ICamo block. On their return they will visit tho Thamos | and Waikato blocks.
