Auckland, July 31. News to hand from Ohaupo states that a nasty accident occurred to Mr J. T. Hicks on Thursday. Ho was harnessing a team, when the shatter made a bite at the leader, which Mr Hicks was harnessing up. The leader jumped towards Mr Hicks and seized him with his teeth by the right hand, which Mr Hicks hold up to keep him off, lacerating it badly and laying bare tho sinews. Mr Hioks at once loft for Cambridge, whero his wounds woro dressed by Dr Cushney.
