Wellington, July 16. I The Royal Hotel, at Featherston, occu- - pied by William Buckeridge, and the Oddfellows' Hall adjoining, and, the Court-house opposite, were destroyed by fire on Saturday morning.. The fire broke out in a wash-house at the rear of the hotel, about 4 o'clock, and spread rapidly. The inmates of the hotel had little time to escape, and very little was saved. The hotel was owned by the Wellington Brewery Company, and was insured in the South British ifor £1600, most of which was re-insured. The stock wafp insured for £150, but Mr Buckeridge estimates his loss at £500. The Oddfellows' loss is heavy, and Mr McLean proprietor of thohall loses about £150. ( It is not known whether the Courthouse was insured, but the local constable wires that most of the records were saved. The origin of the fire is unknown.
