— TROJAN WINS THE GRAND NATIONAL. (BY CABLE—PKES3 ASSOCIATION,) Melbourne, July 16, At the Winter Heeling of the V.R.C., the weather was fine, aud there was a large attendance. The following was the result of the Grand National Steeplechase: Trojan (Edge) l Shylock (Brewer) ... ... 2 Busaco (Williams) 3 . Fifteen horses started. The betting was 7 to 2 Shylock, 4 to I Trojan. From a good start Albert and Trojan headedjthe field, and maintained an advant. age for the greater part of the journey, but Albert while full of running, fell at the last fence, allowing Trojan to win easily by four lengths. Time, 7mins 41secs. Ouida came a cropper and was killed.
