THE WAIRERE FALLS.
These beautiful waterfalls are just now coming-into note. They are situated 15 ■ milea from Te Aroha, whence the road in their direction leads through rich land and fine scenery by way of Waira. k'au, Shaftesbury, 'Gordon settlement, and along the banks of the Waihou river. Bradley and Co,, the well known coach* owners, now despatch from Te Aroha, whenever inducement offers, one of their easiest running American coaches, with a most experienced driver to these beautiful falls.
Mr W. H. Herries, member for Te Aroha riding in the Pinko County Council, has, iulast Saturday's Te Aroha News, a letter in which he says: I have always beeu of the opinion that in those falls the people of this district have one of their greatest attractions. Visitors to Te Aroha are constantly complaining that though the baths aro good and the hotels comfortable, there is nothing to do all day. Any sight seeing would be welcome, and (in the Wairere falls there is a sight, worth going miles to see, not to mention the drive there, which is ous of the most attractive in the colony, Messrs Bradloy and Co, certainly deserve well of the people of Te Aroha for inaugurating thVtrip. Every effort, therefore, should itjeinade to make tho access to the fails r^ r A road might be made from the maitfcroacTtowards the hi h so as to eus able the coaches to deposit their passengers | nearer the fallsj aud a track might bo out through the bueh in the direction of the falls. I fear it would bo impossible, unless with great oxpense, to cut a track risht up to the foot of the falls, but tho climb up to them which is at present aloug tho creek bed and extremely rough, might be shortened considerably.
