Auckland, last night. Coal has boen discovered atHuntly within a mile of the railway Btation. It appears that about two months ago Messrs J, Paton, of Wairea, W. Clarkson, of Kirikiri (near Papakura), and Andrew McLean commenced boring for coal on the latter gentleman's land, The result was highly satisfactory. At a depth of 125 feet from the surface a seam of coal was encountered This proved to be seven feet thick. Boring was still continued through excellent sandstone country, It is an icipate'l that a second seam of coal will be <!ound deeper down;
