Sydney, Monday. A man was arrested on Saturday on his arrival from England, charged with fraudulent insolvency at Hull. The body of Eraser, captain of the brig' Serbrook,' on board of which he was burnt to death, has been recovered. Mr "Weld, Governor of Tasmania, is now mentioned as the new Governor of New South Wales.
Owing to rain the cricket match the English eleven v. eighteen of Bathurst is unfinished.
Melbourne, Feb. 3. McOlune Valentine has failed for one hundred thousand pounds. Business disturbed.
Sydney, February 1. Campbell, the man found shot in the Domain, is still living. He denies suicide.
Adelaide, February 1. Parliament is further prorogued to March 4.
Letters patent have been refused to the University till its degrees are assimilated to those of Sydney, Melbourne, and New Zealand Universities.
TheOhief Secretary stated to a deputation that the depreciation in South Australian bonds was caused by the supposition that the democratic principles of Victoria were shared by South Australia.
