(fbom our own cobbespondent.) «►. Auckland, Wednesday. Daniel McSweeny was committed for trial for rape on a married woman, named Littledale, at the Onehunga Kesident Magistrate's Court to-day. The woman was in a fit at the time. A girl, named Treny, two years of age, was knocked down by a cart and severely injured. Her thigh was broken. A young man named Williams was severely injured to-day, by a bank at the scoria pit giving way, and fracturing one of his legs. Oobomandel, Wednesday. The Eoyal Oak manager reports loose gold showing in the face of No 1 reef, and a good show left in the roof of stope. The Leading stope from bottom level showing crushing dirt only in the hanging wall. The reef shews gold, but the men are not working there at present. Fifty pounds of specimens and picked stone are in hand.
