The Cross says tho now maps of tho counties show sixty counties iu the colony, thus situated: - North Island, 31: West Coast. -Mangonui, Hokianga, Hobson, Waitemata, Manukau, Eaglan, lawhia, Taranaki, Patea, Wanganui, Bangitikei, Manawatu, Mutt, Wairarapa West. East CoAST.-Bay of Islands, Wangarei, Marsden, Coromandel, Thames, Tauranea, Whakatane, Cook, Wairoa. Hawke's BAY.-Waipaua, Wairarapa 'Centbai,.--Pi»ko, Waikato, Waipa, King's, and Taupo. South Island, 29:
West Coast.— Buller,lnangahua, Grey, Westland, Lake land, Fiord. ; Worth Coast.—Oollingwood, Waimea Sounds. „ , _ ~ Jfisr OoAST.-Marlborough, Kaikoura, Amuri, Ashley, Oourtenay, Akaron, Ashburton, Geruldiue, Wainiato, Waifcaki, Waikouaiti. PENiNSULi.-Taieri, Bruce, Olutha. South CoAST.-Southland (including Stewart's Island), Wallace. Centbal (iu Otago).-Molyneux, Maiatoto, and Tunpeka. It will bo seen from our telegrams elsewliero that one of the counties of tho North Island, that of Piako, has disappeared, being absorbed iu tho Thames and Wailiato counties, but another has been created.
