THE HIBERNIAN SOCIETY ANNIVERSARY.

The fifth anniversary of the Grahamstorn branch of (he H.A.C.B.S. Society was celebrated by a ball or evening party, .at the Academy of Musio, last night! There .was a largo-attendaUce, folly 100 couples being on the floor together, and the ball was in every respect as successful as its predecessors in point of amusement, 'although it went under the less ambitious titlo of an evening party. The members of;the/ society.;were; dressed in : their bright regalias. Tho dresses of the lrdies wero varied, some appearing in ball costume, others in evening dress, and others again in less-assnrning costume, but all entered heartily into tho spirit of the amusement provided by tho hosts, and dancing was carried on with unflagging energy. The mixture of gay costumes, bright regalias, flowers, and colours gave thoiscene an appearance of animation and life, such as could scarcely be expected in a more formal arrangement, and the good order and harmohy_ which prevailed contributed to the enjoyment of the guests to a very largo extent. There was an efficient quadrille band of five instruments, including a harp, and there was a competent M.O. in command, Shortly after 11 o'clock the gue«'s crowded in to the supper.providedin ;;*:)wge room of the Pacifio Hotel by liusi Curtis, and .after refreshments the dancing was carried on with renewed vigour, and the party did not separate until morning. ....
