Tim abu, Friday. A fire at two o'clock this morning destroyed Webster's storo, Boardman's (milliners), BrickerstafFs, Taylor's, and Bedfern's shop, Tho fire broke out in BrickerstafF's. Webster was insured for £800. Other insurances are probably existing. The fire brigade was powerless owing to want of water. >

A large meeting at Wairoa last night unanimously approved of the Government measures for immediate Abolition; and considered local administration and a central legislature would prove a great benefit to tbo colony,particularly tho outlying distric's.
