OHINEMURI.

(fbojioubowncobbespondeni.) ; j . . " . August 19. The principal topio of. discussion at the nativo meeting yesterday was in reference to a dispute about a piece of land near Mr. Mitchell's hou.se. Some. of the owners had leased to Mr George Cribb, who commenced to build a house. On the other hand, Mr 0. F. Mitchell claims that he has leased or bought tho ground fromtbe native owners.' ilio dispute has been pending forsome considerable time, and camo to a crisis on Tuesday, when a body of natives (principally women) demolished the framework of- Mr Cribb's house, pulled" up (he blocks, and carried the whole of the materials to the bank of the river, tho rival claimants meanwhile abusing each other to their hearts content. No breach of the peace took place, but I hear that Mr Cribb has gone to the Thames to got legal advice. Mr 0. W. Creagh, who is surveying some of the agricultural leases, complains that there is no map of the goldfield at tho Warden's office in Mackaytown, showing bearings and distances of the goldfield boundary. Ho t Bays that tho wont of it is causing bim great inconvenience. I think that tho Government ought _ to furnish the office properly if thoy, intend to carry on business here. There is not even a map of the townships of Mackaytown and Mackaytown South, to enable intending selectors to see at a glance what allotments are taken up.
