TEHERAN, Oct. 24. The situation in Mesopotamia is markedly better.
Although the Kufah garrison was closely invested, in several places the enemy being-only yards distant, it held out till relieved. Once an 18-pounder was brought up . and fired from 150 yards. Tho garrison concentrated Lewis-guns and annihilated the crew.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
