The Nashville correspondent of the New York Times states that Tennessee has ratified the suffrage amendment, thus enfranchising 26,060.000 women in the United States.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. NEW YORK, Aug. 19. The Washington correspondent of the Now York Evening Sun says the enfranchisement of 25,000,000 women of voting ago is expected to bring an clement of doubt into the Presidential elections. There is still a slight chance that the Tennessee vote may be reconsidered, but this is not expected to occjir. It is said the political leaders are completely at sea regarding the action women wall take over the liquor question and the League of Nations. It is pointed out that it will be difficult to organise women, and although more than 19,000,000 women had the right to vote in many States previously, many of - these did not take an important part in politics. The Republicans and tho Democrats are.taking stops to canvass the situation and make a special appeal to the new voters.
