PROFITEERING CHARGES.
A FURTHER BATCH. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, July’ 20. Nino informations alleging breaches of tho anti-profiteering section of the Board o< Trade Act, 1919, have been laid against two Christchurch firms, a Lyttelton firm, and, a Christchurch chemist, by tho secretary of the local price investigation tribunal. Six of tho.-nine informations have been laid against a firm of tobacco importers and fancy goods merchants, and all relate to an allegedly unreasonably high price charged for Claroilco cigarettes. Another firm of merchants is being proceeded against on a similar charge in'respect of the same brand ot cigarettes, A local chemist is being proceeded against for having, it is alleged, charged an unreasonably high price for a “winchester” (half a gallon) of Borol. The Lyttelton firm is to bo called upon‘to answer a charge of selling rabbit traps at a price alleged to be unreasonably high. ...
